While there the students participating in our early morning choir shared two of the songs they had been working on. They also had a great time exchanges many creative, home-made Valentines.<br /><br /><object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/A3h6_pTTlRM&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/A3h6_pTTlRM&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object><br /><br /><object width="480" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/Cigt3hHrBck&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/Cigt3hHrBck&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="480" height="385"></embed></object>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8433155524872348627.post-35233583554337562562010-02-14T22:05:00.003-07:002010-02-15T12:48:21.895-07:00Masters class commercialsThe Masters class was tasked with doing a one minute commercial for presentation time last week. We found Mrs. Ritter playing Michelango and thoroughly engrossed in her 'ceiling' painting. She was not pleased with our disturbance so we quickly departed. The previous artists also come back to visit in an effort to help us remember their names and a bit about each.<br /><br />We're taking a winter break this next week, which leaves time for a field trip to the Denver Art Museum where we'll get to see the works of many different artists who use many different mediums.<br /><br /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://picasaweb.google.com/s/c/bin/slideshow.swf" width="600" height="400" flashvars="host=picasaweb.google.com&captions=1&hl=en_US&feat=flashalbum&RGB=0x000000&feed=http%3A%2F%2Fpicasaweb.google.com%2Fdata%2Ffeed%2Fapi%2Fuser%2Fhtruitt%2Falbumid%2F5438327239272294033%3Falt%3Drss%26kind%3Dphoto%26authkey%3DGv1sRgCOSCjbiSpLapggE%26hl%3Den_US" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></embed>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8433155524872348627.post-20689244956278733152010-02-09T21:55:00.002-07:002010-02-09T21:58:05.782-07:00Week 16We finally got into the Challenge class with a camera this week. Video would probably be better as there is always much discussion going on, but this gives you a small glimpse.<br /><br />Our art project was quite loud with many hammers flying throughout the morning as the students tried to recreate Durer's stamping methods. We found that larger holes would have made for a more dramatic stamp.<br /><br /><br /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://picasaweb.google.com/s/c/bin/slideshow.swf" width="400" height="267" flashvars="host=picasaweb.google.com&captions=1&hl=en_US&feat=flashalbum&RGB=0x000000&feed=http%3A%2F%2Fpicasaweb.google.com%2Fdata%2Ffeed%2Fapi%2Fuser%2Fhtruitt%2Falbumid%2F5435270583826653313%3Falt%3Drss%26kind%3Dphoto%26authkey%3DGv1sRgCILw7abSvJGRvQE%26hl%3Den_US" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></embed>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8433155524872348627.post-23176412211171786472010-02-09T21:45:00.000-07:002010-02-09T21:46:24.674-07:00Week 15<embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://picasaweb.google.com/s/c/bin/slideshow.swf" width="400" height="267" flashvars="host=picasaweb.google.com&captions=1&hl=en_US&feat=flashalbum&RGB=0x000000&feed=http%3A%2F%2Fpicasaweb.google.com%2Fdata%2Ffeed%2Fapi%2Fuser%2Fhtruitt%2Falbumid%2F5435270129608167425%3Falt%3Drss%26kind%3Dphoto%26authkey%3DGv1sRgCIL7lf6u_4-TpgE%26hl%3Den_US" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></embed>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8433155524872348627.post-63717737387433607982010-01-21T21:50:00.001-07:002010-01-21T21:52:32.885-07:00Week 14<span class="Apple-style-span" style=" white-space: pre-wrap; -webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family:arial, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: medium;">Our Wednesday in photos...</span></span><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style=" white-space: pre-wrap; -webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; font-family:arial, sans-serif;font-size:xx-small;"><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://picasaweb.google.com/s/c/bin/slideshow.swf" width="400" height="267" flashvars="host=picasaweb.google.com&captions=1&hl=en_US&feat=flashalbum&RGB=0x000000&feed=http%3A%2F%2Fpicasaweb.google.com%2Fdata%2Ffeed%2Fapi%2Fuser%2Fhtruitt%2Falbumid%2F5429419152324532097%3Falt%3Drss%26kind%3Dphoto%26authkey%3DGv1sRgCJvg7MfmlpzSBw%26hl%3Den_US" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></embed></span></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8433155524872348627.post-80044825370699852522010-01-16T20:16:00.001-07:002010-01-16T20:19:38.578-07:00Week 13<div style="text-align: center;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family:arial, sans-serif;"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: xx-small; white-space: pre-wrap; -webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px;"><div style="text-align: left;"><p class="MsoNormal"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">Our CC group started back up this week after our holiday break. The Lord blessed everyone with a safe vacation and time to relax our brains for a bit. This made for some very bright colors and beautiful pictures.</span></p><p class="MsoNormal"><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">We continue to move ahead with our timeline and grammar memorization. It was great to see the dads get to know each other a bit since all the moms and kids have become friends. I think all will agree when I say everyone of us are blessed by each other’s participation in our CC group. The children and parents involved are a blessing to all.<br /><br />After a wonderful Mexican potluck we got to see a presentation from each class to get a glimpse of all that is being learned while participating in CC.</p></div>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8433155524872348627.post-9443353263444355092010-01-16T19:21:00.004-07:002010-01-16T19:29:39.998-07:00CC Fall Overview<span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: arial, sans-serif; font-size: xx-small; white-space: pre-wrap; -webkit-border-horizontal-spacing: 2px; -webkit-border-vertical-spacing: 2px; "><div><span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-size: small;">Our fall semester consisted of much change and inconsistency, but God was so good to see us through it all. Two other families join us in the afternoon for Essentials, tutored by Heidi Truitt. At this time the Journeymen and Masters meet together, tutored by Stacy Embleton and the Abecedarians and Apprentices meet together with Stephanie Koen as their tutor. These much appreciated moms have stepped forward to lead our students on class days. As we grow these Foundations groups will separate, if needed, and new tutors will be added. If you have any questions regarding our Classical Conversations program please contact Tammy (see the side bar).<br /><br />Sadly, cameras were forgotten our first meeting day as I think we all had plenty of other items to tote that day. However, we had a camera on hand after that so here are some pictures of our Wednesday class day during the past two weeks.<br /><br /><embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" src="http://picasaweb.google.com/s/c/bin/slideshow.swf" width="400" height="267" flashvars="host=picasaweb.google.com&captions=1&hl=en_US&feat=flashalbum&RGB=0x000000&feed=http%3A%2F%2Fpicasaweb.google.com%2Fdata%2Ffeed%2Fapi%2Fuser%2Fhtruitt%2Falbumid%2F5385618733755496641%3Falt%3Drss%26kind%3Dphoto%26authkey%3DGv1sRgCLvumsjhuu3UWA%26hl%3Den_US" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer"></embed>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
